Nintendo of America Announces Leadership Transition as Doug Bowser Retires
Nintendo of America has announced a significant leadership change, with its current President and Chief Operating Officer, Doug Bowser, set to retire on December 31, 2025.
His successor will be Devon Pritchard, who brings 19 years of experience with NoA, currently serving as Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Communications. Upon assuming her new role, Pritchard will also join the NoA Board of Directors and be appointed as a Nintendo Co., Ltd. Executive Officer. Additionally, Satoru Shibata, previously president of Nintendo of Europe and Nintendo of Australia, will take on the role of Chief Executive Officer for Nintendo of America, alongside his existing positions as Managing Executive Officer and Corporate Director of NCL.
Bowser expressed pride in his team's accomplishments and confidence in Pritchard's leadership, citing her strong performance and strategic contributions. Shuntaro Furukawa, President of Nintendo, extended gratitude to Bowser for his efforts in bringing joy to Nintendo's audience and voiced confidence that Pritchard will uphold Nintendo's mission of creating smiles. Pritchard, reflecting on her extensive history with the company across various departments, is eager to build upon Bowser's foundation and prioritize Nintendo fans by continuing to surprise and delight them while welcoming new players.
