Solving the Scarecrow Field Enigma in Silent Hill f
Unraveling the Mysteries of the Haunted Fields
The Initial Encounter with the Scarecrow Puzzle
Upon venturing with Shu through various fields and dilapidated residences towards Rinko's dwelling in Ebisugaoka, players will encounter a cinematic sequence. This scene transports them to an expansive, fog-laden field populated by a collection of scarecrows, eerily resembling students.
The Stakes of the Scarecrow Riddle
A riddle is prominently displayed on the lead scarecrow. Your objective is to decipher this clue and identify the corresponding scarecrow among the eerie assembly. Incorrect selections can lead to dire consequences, as the scarecrows spring to life, initiating an attack that depletes health and weapon durability. The nature of the riddle and its solution are contingent on the chosen difficulty level: Story, Hard, or Lost in the Fog. A flawless completion not only guarantees safe passage through the fields but also rewards players with an achievement for accurate first-time guesses.
Story Mode Solutions for the Scarecrow Field Puzzle
In Story mode, each scarecrow presents a unique taunt or query, requiring players to identify the correct effigy. For the first scarecrow's remark, 'Why do you always have to be different than everyone else? Freak', select the scarecrow on the left with its head bowed. When confronted with 'Honestly. You're helpless without me', choose the central scarecrow with short hair, resembling Hinako, which is being observed by a Rinko-like figure. The third riddle, 'I'll be your friend. Otherwise, you'd be so miserably alone', points to the scarecrow on the right that resembles Hinako. For the fourth taunt, 'Tell me, truly. You two aren't anything more than friends, right? I've always been watching you when you weren't looking, you know', the solution is the central Hinako-like scarecrow positioned between a Rinko-like figure and a Shu-like figure. Finally, for 'You. Yes, you', opt for the Hinako-like scarecrow located at the rear.
Hard Mode Solutions for the Scarecrow Field Puzzle
On Hard difficulty, the scarecrow riddles intensify. The first, 'I'll put on my polite smile for now', refers to the scarecrow on the left displaying a smiling face beneath a frowning mask. For the lament, 'What it's like to have been deceived by you for so long?', select the middle scarecrow impaled with a sickle. The third riddle, 'He never once looked at me the way he looked at you. Not once', directs players to the leftmost scarecrow, which is not being observed by any others. 'You've always been such an eyesore' indicates the bob-haired scarecrow resembling Hinako. Lastly, for the accusatory 'You hurt me, and even hurt him too. Do you know how it feels to force a smile when I'm staring at that disgusting face of yours?', choose the scarecrow in the back with its head hanging low.
Lost in the Fog Mode Solutions for the Scarecrow Field Puzzle
In the challenging Lost in the Fog mode, the final set of riddles awaits. The phrase, 'I think I'll give you a standing ovation', refers to the scarecrow on the left, bent backward, sporting Rinko's hair. When presented with 'Good riddance. It feels as though I finally got this painful burden off my chest', choose the scarecrow in the background that also has Rinko's distinctive hair. The sorrowful accusation, 'You hurt him, and how you're leaving him behind. I hope you suffer for what you've done', guides you to the Hinako-like scarecrow at the rear. 'You were such a thorn in my side. Always getting between me and him', describes the Hinako-like scarecrow situated between a male figure and a Rinko-like figure. The concluding, 'Goodbye, and don't ever show your face again. Go do your own thing, just like you always have', refers to the Hinako-like scarecrow positioned independently to the Northwest, near hay bales, away from the main group.
